Within the tour of the network’s objectives and activities and during field visits to events and influential personalities in Lebanese society, a delegation from the International Network For Human Rights Monitoring, headed by the Public Relations Officer of the network, Counselor Khaled Al-Sayed visited the office of the Islamic Group (Al-jamaa al-islamiya ) in Sidon Lebanon and met with the political official in the south, Dr. Bassam Hammoud.
The network delegation discussed with Dr. Hamoud the humanitarian situation in Lebanon the political, humanitarian and political crises that this country is witnessing and its implications for the Lebanese society, in addition to hearing about the humanitarian situation of the Syrian refugees and Palestinians and the difficulties they face.
The objectives of the network were also clarified and the tasks and actions of the network that are concerned with strengthening the human rights march in the world and the priorities of the network in combating violence, ignorance and increasing poverty In light of the circumstances in the Arab region and the attempt to present realistic solutions to all humanitarian crises, while ensuring coordination of the network with all institutions and local and international associations and influential personalities in Arab societies. Dr. Bassam Hammoud is considered one of the most important politicians and humanitarian and social work in Lebanon.
Dr. Hamoud welcomed the visiting delegation, stressing his interest in his personality and his keenness on the civil, social and humanitarian peace in Sidon and all Lebanon and welcoming all initiatives that contribute to achieving these goals.
Dr. Hamoud extended his warm greetings to the Chairman of the Board of Directors Dr. Aihan Jaf and to all members of the Board of Directors and employees in this global humanitarian framework.
