This book aims to reveal the pages of intellectual and moral persecution in our history, through a simple and clear presentation of the facts of the persecution of thinkers, who were – and still are – subject to those who search their consciences, and those who incite the public against them. In an attempt to clarify the extent to which thought in our Islamic societies has been subjected to persecution in several eras, as well as to respond to those who portray Islamic history as being free of such problems that faced thought and thinkers.
There is no doubt that our attempt to look at our history from an objective perspective will enable us to understand the past, and it will also help us understand the present.
