On Friday, November 24, 2017, armed terrorists attacked a mosque in the village of al-Rawdah, west of the city of Arish, north of Sinai, in the Arab Republic of Egypt, where they detonated an explosive device, and then fired automatic weapons and rocket-propelled grenades at worshipers who were rushing out of the mosque in a state of panic and fear.
Not only the terrorist attackers killed the worshipers, but, after their criminal act, they burned the cars of citizens parked in front of the mosque before fleeing on four-wheel drive vehicles were waiting for them.
The official Egyptian authorities announced that the death toll of the bloody terrorist massacre killed more than 305 people and that among those killed were 27 children, in addition to 128 injured.
The International Network for Human Rights Monitoring strongly condemns this bloody terrorist massacre that targeted innocent citizens and stresses the necessity of adopting unified international measures to combat and eradicate terrorism and to root out those who support or contribute to the promotion of extremism and terrorism in the world from individuals, groups and countries to criminal prosecution.
The network considers that the crimes of terrorism are no less important than the heinous crimes against humanity. Therefore, we call on the international community to support the Egyptian state in its war against terrorism.
The Network extends to the Arab Republic of Egypt its deepest condolences to the victims of the horrific massacre and we hope that the wounded and the patience of the great Egyptian people will be promptly recovered.
